Science 10  |  Atomic Theory / Periodic Table Review

I will allow some time for students to complete the assignment from yesterday.

Periodic Table Word Build

Students will gather in groups of 4.   This is a competition.  Using the Symbols of elements in the Periodic Table, spell as many words as you can in 20 minutes.  Write the symbol along with the element name and atomic number in the form or an equation to show your thought process.

Calcium (9)     +          Rhemium (75)              2 points

Since the above word has been constructed using two elements, the word is worth two points.  Groups will keep a running total of their point total.

The group that earns the most points in 20 minutes will win.
