Science 9A | Preparation for Atoms and Elements Exam

Students will begin preparation for the Atoms and Elements Exam,  which they will write on Monday, March 20, 2017 Tuesday, March 21, 2017.

This exam will include the following Outcomes:

• AE9.1 Distinguish between physical and chemical properties of common substances.
• AE9.2 Analyze historical explanations of the structure of matter.
• AE9.3 Demonstrate an understanding of the classification of pure substances, including the nature of the periodic table.

Wednesday

The class will divide into small study groups.  Review your course material related to the three outcomes.  Each student will formulate one exam question related to each of the three outcomes.  The questions will require “medium length” answers requiring approximately five points to receive full marks.  Once compete, each student will share their questions with the small group.  Discuss and answer.

Thursday

Each small group will take their bank of questions and share them with another small group.  Discuss and answer.  Once complete, repeat the process until each student has experienced all the possible exam questions.  

At the end of the class on Thursday, each student will hand in their exam questions.  The exam will be comprised of these questions.

Friday

Each small group will take their bank of questions and share them with another small group.  Discuss and answer.  Once complete, repeat the process until each student has experienced all the possible exam questions.

Environmental Science 20 | Soil Health

Students will complete the Soil Health testing activity introduced yesterday.  The written summary will be submitted to the Canvas Page.
